Kesenjangan sosial ialah suatu keadaan ketidak seimbangan sosial yang ada di masyarakat yang menimbulkan suatu perbedaan yang sangat mencolok. Dalam hal kesenjangan sosial sangatlah mencolok dari banyak sekali aspek contohnya dalam aspek keadilanpun sanggup terjadi. - Pak Santa mempunyai sawah 1 ha. Sawah ditanami padi IR 26. Pak Santa jarang mengurus. Tanaman padi cuma di pupuk dan diairi ala kadarnya. Setelah tua, padi dipanen kesudahannya memperoleh 10 kuintal gabah kering.
- Pak Jaya mempunyai 1 ha sawah. Ditanami padi IR 26. Tanah sawah diolah dengan baik. Bibit padi dipilih yang unggul. Pengairannya terjamin, begitu pula pupuknya. Setiap ketika diteliti, bila ada hama diobati. Setelah tua, padi dipanen. Hasilnya mencapai 25 kuintal gabah kering.

Tidak semua insan mencari penghasilan dengan cara yang baik dan halal. Ada yang mencari penghasilan dengan melaksanakan tindak kejahatan, contohnya mencuri atau merampok.
